CAMP DREAM STREET is . . .
- A summer camp experience for children with physical disabilities (including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, spinal cord injury, amputation);
- For children ages 8 – 14 years;
- An opportunity for children to have fun, to make new friends, to learn new skills, and to simply be kids;
- Packed with activities such as swimming, boating, fishing, arts and crafts, music, and many other surprises!
2011 DATES:
Begins: Tuesday, May 29 – 10:00 AM Ends: Saturday, June 2 – 10:00 AM
LOCATION:
Henry S. Jacobs Camp, Utica, MS (35 miles south of Jackson, MS)
COST:
There is NO cost to eligible campers selected to participate in Dream Street.
TRANSPORTATION:
Dream Street does not provide transportation to and from camp, but we can potentially suggest other camper families to carpool with. Please note on application if assistance with transportation is needed.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
We provide clean, comfortable, and spacious cabins all with inside facilities. We also assign Counselors and Staff to each cabin.
STAFF:
The Dream Street staff consists of full-time, resident counselors and a team of adult volunteers for all camp activities. Generally, each camper has his/her own one-on-one counselor for the week. Counselors are members of NFTY Southern, which is a regional youth organization.
MEDICAL:
A camp nurse and doctor are available to assist campers at all times. Prior to the beginning of camp, each camper is required to complete a medical form which must be signed by the parent and a physician. The medical form must be returned to DREAM STREET, P.O. Box 16528 Jackson, MS 39236, prior to the beginning of camp.
